Fall is a great time to reorient your goals and get yourself back on track. If you are headed back to your campus, or have kids going back to school, you may be scrambling to plan out healthy lunches. A sandwich is a quick go to, and most people can find enough fillings they like to put between 2 slices of bread and call it good.
But is good? I’m not necessarily anti-bread, but I am against taking whole foods, processing them to death, and adding artificial ingredients/nutrients in to make it food again. And if you have an any issues with wheat or gluten, bread is pretty much out of the question. Most gluten free breads on the market have the same issues I listed above, sometimes even more so to make up for the lack of taste and texture.
Even if you’re not ready to abandon your sandwich, you could mix it up and take something else for lunch 1 or 2 days a week. I searched through the interwebs and found some fun recipes for lunches that don’t require bread. Browse through this list below and see if anything looks appetizing!
